winter winter winter

It's been absolutely freezing cold around here, and terms such as polar vortex and arctic blast have been used frequently over the past week in whatever media you turned to. A snow storm closed Silja's preschool last Friday, and then it all melted away, just to get really really cold again. So all this winter weather has been a good excuse to cosy things up at home with hot chocolate and soup, and a cave with lights. We are lucky to have our neighbors just a few doors down, who are always ready for a chat or a playdate, when things get boring at home.
Making New Year hats with friends
They don't do fireworks for New Years in Boston, so sparklers were as festive as it got.
Sledding (Silja and Bjarni are on top of the hill)
Ice lanterns made out of balloons.

A baby on the back turns out to be a whole lot easier than a baby in a stroller, when there are lots of snow.
